Joint IEEE-FCAI Seminar on Smart Biomedical Systems

  • BaseN Salmisaarenaukio 1 Helsinki, Uusimaa, 00180 Finland (map)

This seminar examines how, like other domains of technology, biomedical systems are undergoing an AI revolution, with data-driven and learning methods enabling more accurate monitoring and diagnosis across both clinical and wearable contexts. We will examine the vast potential unlocked by combining state-of-the-art traditional medical practices and health technologies with modern AI pipelines, highlighting translational pathways from the lab to the bedside. The aim is to discuss the current state of the field, identify key opportunities for innovation and integration, and confront the practical, ethical, and regulatory challenges that must be addressed to build trustworthy, equitable, and effective AI-enabled biomedical systems.
