Funding is allocated directly to each participating university and hence internal policies should be applied in the use of funding. The level of funding is such that, in addition to the salary, it also covers other research expenses (e.g., travel and mobility) and supervision costs. It is recommended that funding is reserved also for participating in AI-DOC joint activities (e.g., at Aalto, 1000€/year is allocated for that). Please contact your local finance department for the budgeting principles at your university.
