FCAI is strongly involved in developing the underlying technologies, especially data efficiency, of foundation models: AI systems that have been trained on large amounts of data at scale, that can be used for lots of different applications, from chatbots to image and text synthesis. Within FCAI, foundation model development is focused on healthcare, sustainability, drug and materials design, and understanding of atmospheric particles.
