Below we provide some guidance for traveling and accommodation. Please check the respective travel rules with your university as well. The address of the main venue is Otakaari 24, 02150 Espoo. The address of the Friday venue is Nuuksiontie 84, 02820 Espoo but we will provide bus transport there from the main venue.
How to travel to EDS2023?
By plane to Helsinki Airport (HEL)
By ferry from Estonia and Sweden (as well as Germany)
By train and bus from destinations within Finland
How to move around in the capital area?
By public transport (Helsinki Regional Transport Authority (HSL). HSL is efficient and provides mobile apps for finding the best route and buying tickets (HSL app). You to buy single or day tickets and pay them with your phone. It is also possible to buy a physical HSL travel card from HSL service points (e.g. at the Central Railway Station, Elielinaukio 3, next to VR service point) or R-kioski.
Main venue is located in HSL zone B, the city center of Helsinki is in zone A and the airport in zone C.
You can easily reach the main venue using the metro (Aalto University metro station)
The airport is easily reachable from the city centre by train or bus
Please make sure to have a valid HSL ticket for the duration of the symposium. One option is to buy a multi day ticket. You will most likely need to validate the ticket before the first journey.
There is the possibility to use city bikes for shorter rides
